The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems are essential tools for individuals managing diabetes, offering a seamless way to monitor glucose levels without the need for routine fingersticks. These systems are specifically designed for those with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, including children aged 2 years and older, providing real-time glucose readings every five minutes. A standout feature of the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro is their ability to deliver personalized alerts based on your glucose levels, ensuring you are always aware of your glucose trends and can make informed treatment decisions.*

With the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro, you can receive alerts directly on your smart device, helping you manage both high and low glucose levels effectively. The systems offer an Alert Schedule feature that lets you customize alerts to fit your daily routine, such as setting different alert settings for work hours versus other times of the day. You can choose custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option for your phone, although the critical Urgent Low Alarm cannot be turned off.

The Always Sound setting, enabled by default, ensures that you receive essential Dexcom CGM alerts even when your phone's sound is off, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This means you can silence calls and texts while still receiving critical alerts such as the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. A home screen icon indicates whether your alerts are set to sound. For safety reasons, the Urgent Low Alarm and three other alerts—Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped—cannot be silenced.

Additional features of the Dexcom G6 include the ability to share your glucose data with up to ten followers in real time using the Dexcom Follow app. This sharing function requires an internet connection. The systems also support Health Connect access, allowing you to share retrospective glucose data with third-party apps. Quick Glance enables you to view your glucose data directly from your smart device's lock screen. For users with Wear OS watches, integration allows viewing glucose alerts and alarms right on your wrist.

*Fingersticks may still be required for diabetes management decisions if symptoms do not match readings.
