About the Hazari Game:

Hazari is a four-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards, and the objective is to arrange them from highest to lowest. Once arranged, players signal they are 'up'. The game begins with the player to the right of the dealer, who throws the first card. The highest card value wins the round, allowing the winner to throw the next set of cards. Points are calculated at the end of each round, with cards from Ace to 10 worth 10 points each, and cards from 9 to 2 worth 5 points. The ultimate goal is to accumulate 1000 points across multiple games.

In case of ties, the player who throws the card later wins. For example, if Player 1 throws AKQ of Hearts, Player 2 throws 678 of Spades, Player 3 throws AKQ of Diamonds, and Player 4 throws 55J of Hearts, Player 3 wins with AKQ of Diamonds.

Rules for Winning:

  • TROY: Three of a kind (e.g., AAA, KKK, QQQ, etc.)
  • COLOR RUN: Three consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., AKQ of Spades, A23 of Hearts, etc.)
  • RUN: Three consecutive cards of any suit (e.g., AKQ of mixed suits, A23 of mixed suits, etc.)
  • COLOR: Any cards of the same suit, with the highest card determining the winner (e.g., K83 of Spades vs. K92 of Spades, K92 wins)
  • PAIR: Two cards of the same rank plus any other card (e.g., 443, 99J, QQ6, with AAK being the highest and 223 the lowest)
  • INDI or INDIVIDUALS: Any cards not fitting into the above categories, with the highest card determining the winner (e.g., 5 of Hearts, 7 of Spades, 9 of Diamonds; 9 is the highest card)

How to Play:

Players start by arranging their 13 cards into sets of 3, 3, 3, and 4. The game progresses as follows:

  1. The first player throws three cards, and the rest follow suit with their highest-value cards.
  2. The winner of the first round throws their next highest set of three cards, and the cycle continues.
  3. This pattern repeats until the final set of four cards is played.
  4. The game continues until a player reaches 1000 points.
