Mahjong School: Learn Japanese Riichi Mahjong
Mahjong School helps you master the game of Mahjong. We focus on teaching the Japanese style of Mahjong, which is also very similar to European (Riichi) and US styles of play. While it differs slightly from Chinese, Hong Kong, or Taiwanese styles, once you learn Japanese Mahjong, you can easily adapt to other variations.
Mahjong School offers three ways to learn Japanese Mahjong.
1 The Mahjong Calculator.
Click to add tiles to form a hand or declare TING, CHOW, PON, or CHI to complete a winning hand. You can also set various conditions, such as DORA tiles and self-draws. Once you finish, the calculator will determine the hand's Fu and points, with detailed explanations including hand names.
2 The Simple Tutorial.
This tutorial lists every Han value, complete with example hands and clear descriptions.
3 A Practice Mode.
Play Mahjong directly against an AI. The AI is beginner-friendly and perfect for those learning the game. Practice is the fastest way to improve your Mahjong skills.
Enjoy the game!
