Arrowhead Hints at Post-Helldivers Game

Arrowhead Studios, riding high on the phenomenal success of Helldivers 2 (released last year to critical acclaim), is currently developing a new, ambitious game concept. Creative director Johan Pilestedt recently took to social media, announcing work on a "high-concept" project and inviting fan input.

The community responded with a flurry of suggestions, ranging from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt acknowledged prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and even mentioned a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail game" genre.

While specifics remain under wraps, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio's next title faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's status as a standout game of 2024.

A recent update has dramatically boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, a surprise drop at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received.

This update has clearly delighted Helldivers 2 players. The long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, alongside the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle and new urban warfare maps, are significant additions. Furthermore, with rumors of a Killzone crossover, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
