Feral Interactive Drops the Imperium Update for ROME: Total War
Attention all fans of the classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*! Feral Interactive has just released a game-changing free update for the Android version, dubbed the Imperium Update. This massive update introduces a slew of gameplay tweaks, refined controls, and quality-of-life enhancements that promise to elevate your gaming experience. If you've been enjoying *ROME: Total War* since its arrival on Android in 2018, you're in for a treat. And don't worry—next week, the standalone expansions *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* will also receive the same updates.
What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?
The Imperium Update incorporates some of the finest features from Feral’s newer mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, which offer greater precision and control over your units during battles. Gone are the days of manually dragging paths; now, you can simply tap and hold to maneuver your army, agents, or fleets with ease.
The new Positioning Mode enhances your ability to fine-tune unit placements with a simple tap and hold. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups, providing a collapsible selection menu for easier navigation. Melee Mode is a game-changer, allowing ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it.
A standout feature of the Imperium Update is the Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game down when you're issuing complex orders, ensuring you never miss a beat. Additionally, for the first time, *ROME: Total War* on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, opening up new possibilities for strategic gameplay.
The minimap has been revamped to resemble the one found in *MEDIEVAL II*, offering smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, keeping you in control at all times.
The Imperium Update is now live and available for installation via the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android owners. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* next week, and don't miss out on these exciting enhancements.
