God of War Ragnarok Marks 20th Anniversary with Dark Odyssey Cosmetic Update Next Week
Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the exciting Dark Odyssey collection, an upcoming update for God of War Ragnarök that promises to bring a fresh look to the game. Scheduled to launch next week on March 20, this update is part of the celebrations for the God of War franchise's 20th anniversary, as detailed in a recent PlayStation.Blog post.
The Dark Odyssey update is set to dazzle players with its black-and-gold themed cosmetics, available for free to all God of War Ragnarök players on both PlayStation 5 and PC. This update not only enhances Kratos' appearance with a legendary armor set reminiscent of the iconic skin from God of War 2, but also offers new looks for companions Atreus and Freya, as well as for a variety of shields and weapons.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the armor set for Kratos, which recalls the exclusive skin previously awarded to players who conquered God of War 2 on the challenging God Mode. Players can easily claim this new content from any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Additionally, this update will introduce the much-anticipated feature to customize Kratos' weapons' appearance without impacting their abilities.
