GTA 6: S-Tier Potential? Ranking All Rockstar Games

The excitement for the new GTA 6 trailer is palpable, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, we'll need to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. In the meantime, let's reminisce about the Rockstar games we've loved over the years and rank them for fun!

Rockstar has been a powerhouse in gaming since 1998, churning out over 30 titles, including iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which one reigns supreme? Note that we're focusing solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding published titles like LA Noire or Max Payne 2. I've ranked them based on my personal enjoyment using an IGN Tier List. Here's how I see it:

Topping my S-tier is Red Dead Redemption 2, which I consider my all-time favorite game. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both of which have set the standard for cinematic open-world experiences. I also have a soft spot for Max Payne 3 with its exhilarating bullet time mechanics, and GTA San Andreas, a game I played far too young but loved nonetheless. At the bottom of the list in D-tier, you'll find titles like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are probably best left unplayed.
