In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are a crucial crafting resource that you can start collecting early in your adventure, particularly in the Windward Plains. These fangs are essential for forging beginner-tier gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to efficiently find and farm Sharp Fangs in the game.

To begin your hunt for Sharp Fangs, embark on one of the initial optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains, offering you a generous 50-minute time frame to explore. Before setting out, consider enhancing your performance by cooking and eating a meal.

Once in the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest zone on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. Your primary target for Sharp Fangs should be the Gaijos.

Gaijos

Gaijos, resembling crocodiles with unique snouts, are small leviathan monsters often found near or in riverbeds. You can locate them by scanning the purple diamonds on the interactive map, which indicate their positions near water sources.

Approach a Gaijos location and use your equipped weapon to swiftly defeat them, as they have relatively low health. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, making them a priority target. With around four to five Gaijos initially present in the Windward Plains, you can repeatedly enter via any optional quest to farm more Sharp Fangs as needed.

Another source of Sharp Fangs, though not guaranteed, is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally Area 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they can still be taken down with starter weapons.

Carving Talioth carcasses may yield other items like Talioth Scales, but there's also a chance to obtain Sharp Fangs. Additionally, hunting Talioths can help you complete the "The Desert is Demanding" quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
