Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

The ideal moment to pick up this quest is during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes, where you can talk to Gules while he's enjoying a drink. However, you can also start the quest earlier by visiting Semine and speaking to Gules while he's on patrol. Ask him about his past association with bandits and offer your assistance in eliminating them. Canker, a former member of this group, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Be cautious as the route to this location is often patrolled by bandits who may attempt an ambush. You have the option to employ stealth to bypass them, engage them in combat, or simply evade them. Although these random encounters aren't particularly challenging, they can be troublesome if you're trying to conserve health for the impending battle.

The bandit camp where Canker resides is nestled in the mountains and can be easily overlooked. Access to the camp requires navigating through a narrow gap, similar to the approach to the Hermit's house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. It's advisable to prepare for combat before entering, as you'll confront several bandits, including Canker himself.

The order in which you eliminate the bandits can influence their behavior; some may attempt to flee. However, you must defeat most of them to complete the quest. Fortunately, Canker remains steadfast and does not flee, ensuring you can fulfill the quest's requirement by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his companions, loot Canker's body to obtain the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your success. Feel free to take any additional items you find valuable. Once you've collected the necessary loot, return to Gules to officially complete the "Canker" quest.

Following the completion of "Canker" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you must wait a full in-game day before proceeding to the next quest related to Gules' former bandit associates. After the day has passed, speak with Gules again to initiate the "Handsome Charlie" quest.
