Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: How To Get Effects Of Two Outfits Simultaneously
Mastering the Two-Outfit Trick in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the effects of multiple outfits, a powerful technique with some limitations.
Remastered Version Required
This dual-outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, enabling you to wear one outfit's appearance while retaining another's stats and effects.
Outfit Requirements
This technique isn't universal. While your primary outfit can be any, your secondary (for visual transmog) must be one of these three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
These outfits are located in the Frozen Wilds DLC, accessible without completing the main game.
Obtaining Banuk Werak Outfits
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds, defeat the initial machine (adjust difficulty if needed), and purchase the outfit from any Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon).
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Adept
Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest). Consider lowering difficulty for easier completion. The Adept version is only available in NG+.
Combining Outfit Effects
Equip your desired outfit (optimizing stats with Weaves). Then, use transmog to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These provide an automatic healing effect after taking damage.
This allows you to benefit from your chosen outfit's stats and the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with the Shield Weaver outfit creates a nearly invincible character.
