Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates

In a recent roadmap reveal, Insomniac Games shared their future vision for the studio but remained silent on any new developments for their eagerly awaited title, Marvel’s Wolverine. During an interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern highlighted the studio's focus on great projects and an ambitious roadmap. However, he made it clear that they are not ready to share updates on upcoming releases, including any confirmation or denial of a 2025 release for Marvel’s Wolverine.

"As much as we have pent-up excitement, we got to hold on to it," Dezern stated, emphasizing the need to keep the anticipation alive without spoiling the surprises.

Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021

Marvel’s Wolverine was first unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, where Insomniac introduced the game with a captivating cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5.

In a 2023 interview with the Kinda Funny YouTube group, Bryan Intihar, the Creative Director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine is set in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, specifically in universe "1048." Given that both titles were announced during the same event, fans anticipated some form of crossover or shared teasers. However, the only nod to Wolverine so far has been the "The Best There Is" suit for Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In December 2023, Insomniac Games faced a targeted ransomware attack, which led to the brief public exposure of Marvel’s Wolverine's development assets and gameplay showcases.

Insomniac Games Current Projects

Spider-Man 2 is set to hit PC platforms on January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac has clarified that there will be "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2," putting an end to speculation about future DLCs. The PC version will include all updates from the PS5 release, such as new suits, New Game+, and more. It will be available in two editions: Standard and Digital Deluxe, with the latter offering exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
