The key to successfully hunting AI in Ecos La Brea is stealth. To start tracking an AI, use your scent button. This will reveal animal icons on your screen if there are any nearby. To enhance your tracking, crouch and keep an eye on the meter that appears.

The meter shows how close you are to spooking the animal, filling up as you move. Once it's fully filled, the AI will bolt.

First, consider your speed of movement. Sprinting will almost instantly fill the meter, while running has a significant impact. Trotting fills it more slowly, and walking is the slowest, making it the best choice as you approach your target.

Next, pay attention to the direction of your approach. Coming downwind will spook the animal faster. Crosswind is a moderate approach, but the best direction is upwind, as it minimizes your detection.

Finally, consider the behavior of the AI. You'll notice a question mark occasionally appearing above the animal icon. If you move while the question mark is visible, the meter will fill up faster. Stop moving until it disappears to maintain your stealth.

The meter will inevitably fill up before you reach the AI, so be ready when it runs. Toggle Sprint to chase it down effectively. The AI's movements can be erratic, so practice in open fields where there are fewer obstacles to your line of sight.

To catch the animal, you must get very close to bite down. Once you have your prey, drop it to the ground and then eat it. Continue this cycle of hunting until you're satisfied.
