Ryan Reynolds in Early Talks for Deadpool and X-Men Film

Author : Ryan May 21,2025

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the "early stages" of bringing a new Deadpool and X-Men movie to life, according to THR. This project, which has yet to be pitched to Marvel, envisions an ensemble film where Deadpool shares the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters. Reynolds aims to have these characters take center stage, allowing them to be "used in unexpected ways."

This proposed film would be distinct from the X-Men movie that Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie is currently developing. Reynolds is known for meticulously crafting his ideas before presenting them to Marvel, much like he did with Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially started as a concept for a low-budget road trip movie.

While this isn't the first time we've heard about Reynolds' plans for a Deadpool ensemble movie, this latest development sheds more light on the potential adventures the Merc With a Mouth might embark on. The specific X-Men characters that could join Deadpool remain a mystery, but he has previously teamed up with various team members and foes in his films, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
