Shin Chan's Shiro & Coal Town Hits Crunchyroll Game Vault

Shin Chan: Shiro & the Coal Town is now available for Android via the Crunchyroll Game Vault. This charming slice-of-life adventure first launched in Japan for Nintendo Switch in February 2024, followed by a global release on Switch and PC in October 2024. Finally, it has arrived on mobile devices.

Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town Is a Mysterious Anime Adventure

The story begins as the Nohara family moves to a serene village in Akita Prefecture after Hiroshi secures a job near his hometown. They rent a traditional Japanese farmhouse and begin adapting to the tranquil rural lifestyle.

Early in the game, Shinnosuke (Shin Chan) discovers the simple pleasures of country life with his grandfather, Ginnosuke. Players will spend their days fishing in Akita's rivers, catching insects in the groves, and learning farming basics from his grandmother.

One day, the family dog, Shiro, reappears mysteriously covered in coal dust and dashes away. Shin Chan gives chase, leading him to an unexpected train that appears out of nowhere. A spontaneous ride aboard it transports him directly to the enigmatic Coal Town.

Coal Town feels like it’s been frozen since the Showa era

Coal Town presents a stark contrast to the peaceful countryside, featuring bustling workers, a retro atmosphere, and unique new activities. The town includes a children's park, a diner, various shops, restaurants, and an apartment complex. Some locations are interactive, while others serve as atmospheric background scenery.

Here, you encounter Yuri, a young inventor who enlists your help to gather materials for her experiments aimed at improving life for the townspeople. However, her plans are complicated by the arrival of her older brother, Chuck. His attempt to institute a "waste-free" system backfires, creating chaos for everyone. Your mission becomes helping Yuri stop Chuck and restore harmony to Coal Town.
