Stream All Mad Max Movies Online: Where to Watch

I'll be honest with you: George Miller is my favorite director. He’s the mastermind behind two of my all-time favorite movie franchises: Mad Max and Happy Feet (yes, there was a Happy Feet sequel, so don't sleep on it). I get a bit carried away with the Happy Feet thing, but let's focus on the thrilling world of Mad Max.

The Mad Max series masterfully blends the raw energy of early '80s action with a surreal, post-apocalyptic vision of Australia. After releasing three films between 1979 and 1985, it seemed like Mad Max would stay a trilogy and a relic of the past. Then, following the Happy Feet detour, Miller returned to the franchise that started it all.

With Tom Hardy stepping into the iconic role previously held by Mel Gibson, Mad Max: Fury Road hit theaters in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim, eventually earning six Academy Awards. While the latest addition, Furiosa, didn't quite match the box office success, I'm still confident in calling Mad Max one of the greatest action franchises ever.

As Fury Road marks its 10th anniversary, I highly recommend embarking on a Mad Max marathon. Here’s how you can watch all the Mad Max movies online.

How to Watch the Mad Max Movies in Order

If you want to watch the Mad Max movies chronologically, you can follow the release order for the original trilogy and then watch Furiosa before Fury Road:

  • Mad Max
  • Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
  • Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
  • Mad Max: Fury Road

However, I believe Furiosa is best enjoyed as the final movie in your marathon. Like most great prequels, some of its best moments rely on your understanding of the characters from Fury Road.

George Miller has hinted that the future of the Mad Max franchise hinges on Furiosa’s performance. Although the prequel didn't dominate the box office, Miller's comments suggest he still has more stories to tell in this universe.

This possibility was reinforced when Deadline reported that Miller "has a script" for another Mad Max movie, likely referencing The Wasteland, a rumored sequel to Fury Road. Yet, with other projects on his plate, and considering the high cost of production, another Mad Max film might not be greenlit anytime soon. But fingers crossed, because it's a story worth telling.
