Techland Expands Dying Light 2 with Free Tower Raid Roguelite Mode
Techland's Dying Light 2 continues to evolve with the addition of Tower Raid, a thrilling new roguelite-inspired game mode. Following extensive testing, this highly anticipated mode offers a dynamic and unpredictable survival experience unlike anything before.
Forget Aiden Caldwell; in Tower Raid, you choose from four unique warrior classes—Tank, Brawler, Ranger, and Specialist—each boasting distinct abilities and encouraging diverse playstyles and strategic teamwork. For the ultimate challenge, tackle the tower solo or with a reduced team size.
The mode features three difficulty levels: Quick, Normal, and Elite, each impacting the intensity and length of your climb. Procedurally generated levels ensure every playthrough is unique, demanding adaptability and strategic thinking to overcome shifting floor layouts and unpredictable enemy encounters.
Failure isn't the end; it's an opportunity. A new progression system unlocks abilities and weapons with each attempt, steadily improving your chances of success. At the tower's heart, you'll find Sola, a mysterious merchant offering rare rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those who prove their worth.
While gearing up for Dying Light: The Beast, Techland remains dedicated to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Expect future updates including improved co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a brand-new weapon class, prologue enhancements, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
