War Robots collaborates with renowned robot designer Kunio Okawara
Japan is renowned as a pioneer in the mecha genre, showcasing two significant styles: real robot and super robot. My.Games' War Robots is now set to collaborate with the acclaimed designer Kunio Okawara, known for his iconic work on the original Gundam, co-created with writer Yoshiyuki Tomino. The Gundam, a symbol of the real robot genre, has graced numerous series and even featured in blockbuster movies like Ready Player One.
Players will soon have the chance to command Okawara's latest creation, the SWORD Unit 190, an original design developed in-game by the DSC Corporation. This exclusive unit comes equipped with optional drones and plasma guns, all designed by Okawara himself.
You'll have to wait a bit longer to pilot the new SWORD unit, but it will be a highlight of the upcoming MECHA Raider S.W.O.R.D event, running from May 20th to June 1st. This event pays homage to the real robot genre, and it's clear why War Robots chose to partner with Okawara. Even if you're not familiar with his previous works, this new design promises to be a thrilling addition to your arsenal.
