How To Join the Baldur’s Gate 3 Stress Test & Try Crossplay
Long awaited by players across PC and console platforms, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3! Patch 8, slated for release in 2025, will introduce this highly anticipated feature. A stress test in January 2025 will give select players early access.
When is Cross-Play Arriving?
While a firm release date for Patch 8 is yet to be announced, the January 2025 stress test will offer a sneak peek at crossplay functionality for participating players. This early access period allows Larian Studios to identify and resolve any potential bugs before the wider launch.
How to Participate in the Patch 8 Stress Test:
To join the stress test and experience crossplay firsthand, register through Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account. The registration process is quick and simple, requiring only basic player information, including your preferred gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).
Keep in mind that registration doesn't guarantee selection. Chosen participants will receive an email with further instructions. Selected testers will provide valuable feedback via dedicated forms and Discord channels.
The stress test also aims to assess the impact of Patch 8 on various mods, making it beneficial for mod users and creators to participate.
Crucially, for crossplay to work, all players in your group must be part of the stress test. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release.
Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity and strong community are undeniable. Crossplay promises to further strengthen this vibrant community, uniting players from different platforms to explore the captivating world of Faerûn.
