PHASE 10 RULES:

A phase is a specific combination of cards. Phases often consist of sets (cards of the same value), runs (consecutive cards in ascending order), cards of one color, or a mix of these. As the name states, there are ten phases to complete.

The dealer shuffles the deck and deals 10 cards face down, one at a time, to each player. Players keep their cards hidden from opponents.

Completing phases

▪️ Phases must be completed in order, from 1 to 10.

▪️ You must hold the entire Phase in your hand before playing it.

▪️ You can lay down more than the Phase's minimum requirement, but only if the extra cards can be directly added to it.

▪️ Only one Phase may be completed per hand.

▪️ If you complete a Phase, you attempt the next Phase in the following hand. If you fail, you must try the same Phase again next hand.

▪️ Players earn credit for a Phase as soon as it's laid down. Winning the hand is not necessary to get Phase credit. Multiple players can complete their Phase in the same hand.

Also, if you have a required Phase in hand, YOU ARE NOT FORCED to play it. You must still discard a card at the end of your turn.

Going out and Ending the Round:

After laying down your Phase, your goal is to play the remaining cards in your hand.

Remember: You must ALWAYS draw one card at the start of your turn and discard one card at the end.

Scoring a Round:

A round ends when one player has laid down their Phase and discarded their final card.

Players then add up the point values of the cards left in their hands (having fewer cards is better), scored as follows:

▪️ Five points (5) for each card valued 1-9

▪️ Ten points (10) for each card valued 10-12

▪️ Fifteen points (15) for a Skip card

▪️ Twenty-five points (25) for a Wild card

Your objective is to finish the game with the LOWEST total score.

Finishing the game:

If only one player is attempting Phase 10 and completes it, they win immediately. If multiple players complete phases on the same hand, the winner is the one who completed Phase 10 and has the lowest total points. If tied, the tied players replay Phase 10; the first to complete it and discard all cards wins.
