Tingklik is a traditional Balinese musical instrument crafted from bamboo.
The tingklik is a traditional Balinese instrument constructed from bamboo blades, played by striking them with a specialized mallet called a "tingklik pelvis." This gamelan ensemble features two distinct tingklik instruments: the Polos and the Sangsih. A standard tingklik comprises between eleven and twenty-five bamboo blades. The exact number depends on the tuning scale employed. Players use both hands: the right hand performs the kotekan (the melody), while the left hand provides the foundational rhythm, or bun. Sometimes, the roles are reversed, with the right hand playing the Sangsih part and the left hand the Polos.
