A Classic Norse Battle of Wits

Hnefatafl is the legendary board game of Scandinavia, predating chess across medieval Europe. This tactical contest pits asymmetrical forces against each other: a black attacking army trying to capture the white king versus white defenders protecting their ruler.

Known as the Viking Game, Hnefatafl recreates historic conflicts from Swedish defenses against Moscow to Viking raids in Britain. Though the battles differ, the core objective remains constant - the dramatic hunt for the king!
