Story

In the DC universe, multiple parallel dimensions exist simultaneously, known as alternative universes. In these unique realms, events unfold differently, leading to various outcomes.

The game is set in a fictional alternative universe where Superman has been corrupted after being tricked into killing his pregnant wife, Lois, and millions of civilians in a tragic nuclear accident. In retaliation, he brutally takes down the Joker, the mastermind behind the tragedy, and establishes tyrannical control over the planet.

With his mind corrupted, Superman sees himself as a supreme deity tasked with maintaining peace and order. However, he begins to lose his senses and kills anyone he deems guilty, pushing the planet toward destruction.

A group of superheroes, led by Batman, forms the Insurgency to stand against Superman's dictatorship. Despite their powers, they cannot defeat Superman's One Earth Regime without help. Batman and the Insurgency devise a plan to teleport superheroes from a different dimension, where the Joker's schemes never succeeded, to borrow their powers and begin the ultimate journey in the world of Injustice.
