MAME4droid (0.139u1)

MAME4droid brings the classic arcade experience to your Android device by emulating games supported by the original MAME 0.139u1 version. Developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco), this emulator is a port of the MAME 0.139 by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team, supporting over 8000 different ROMs.

*MAME4droid is strictly an emulator and does not include any ROMs or copyrighted materials.*

Designed for dual-core Android devices, this version leverages the capabilities of the PC MAME version, which demands higher specifications. However, even with a high-end device, don't expect seamless performance from all "modern" arcade games from the 90s onwards. Games like Outrun and the Mortal Kombat series might require at least a 1.5GHz dual-core device due to their poor optimization.

Given the extensive library of over 8000 games, performance can vary significantly. Some games will run smoothly, while others might not work at all. The developer cannot guarantee support for every game, so please refrain from sending requests for specific game support.

To get started, place your MAME-compatible zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/MAME4droid/roms folder after installation. This version specifically uses the '0.139' romset.
