Battlefield 6 to Launch in October at $80, Beta Confirmed: Leak
Battlefield 6 is targeting an October launch with an $80 base price point, according to industry reports.
Reliable leaker Dealabs' Billbil-kun indicates the rumored October 10, 2025 release date is accurate. The game will launch simultaneously on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S featuring a standard edition at $79.99 and a premium Phantom edition at $109.99. PC players are expected to get a $10 discount across both versions.
With pre-orders reportedly going live on July 31, today's announcement will confirm the absence of early access perks - breaking from recent industry trends. Players purchasing the standard edition can later upgrade to the Phantom version for $29.99.
The Battlefield team has officially confirmed an upcoming open beta. In a recent social media post, developers posed an interesting choice to players: "Open weapons or locked class weapons?" before suggesting "Why not both?" The official account teased: "Starting at Open Beta, players can choose official playlists with Signature Weapons locked to class, or not. More to come."
Publisher EA is poised for a full Battlefield 6 reveal today at 8am PT/11am ET, complete with a debut trailer. Yesterday's campaign teaser hinted at a near-future global conflict where NATO faces coordinated attacks, including an assault on its Georgia base, invasion of Gibraltar, and the assassination of the NATO Secretary-General in Brussels by the shadowy Pax Armata organization.
Fans have waited patiently since Battlefield 6's initial 2021 announcement made during the fallout of Battlefield 2042. While early concept art confirmed a modern setting, most information has emerged through leaks from Battlefield Labs testing sessions rather than official channels.
These playtest leaks have proliferated, with developer DICE acknowledging they've received "loads of feedback from very active testers." Early impressions contrast sharply with Battlefield 2042's mixed reception, with participants expressing enthusiasm for the new mechanics. EA initially took a relaxed approach to these leaks before intensifying takedown efforts.
Leaked gameplay details include a new drag mechanic, vehicle clinging abilities, enhanced movement systems, 3D tactical maps, improved destruction physics, various quality-of-life improvements, and footage of battle royale match openings.
