Activision has confirmed that the introduction of Directed mode in *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* has nearly doubled the number of players engaging with the main quest. While many players of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies* traditionally focus on survival, the Directed mode has shifted a significant portion of the community's attention toward the storyline.

Since its inception in *World at War*, the Zombies mode in *Call of Duty* has always included a narrative, which has grown increasingly complex with each new release. This trend continues with *Black Ops 6*. Despite a general decline in the game's player base since its launch, the Zombies mode retains a dedicated following. The mode challenges up to four players to fend off waves of increasingly difficult enemies, often leading players to prioritize enhancing their weapons and defenses over following the story. However, the introduction of Zombies Directed mode in the Season 1 update has quickly become popular among the community.

A recent blog post from *Call of Duty* revealed that Directed mode has boosted the main quest completion rate from 4% to 8.23%. This statistic is drawn from 480 million hours of *Black Ops 6 Zombies* gameplay, with a small portion logged since the November 14 rollout of Directed mode. Treyarch's goal was to encourage more players to engage with the main quest, and the doubling of completions is viewed as a success. Nonetheless, with over 90% of players still not completing the main quest, Treyarch is actively exploring further ways to boost this figure.
