Describes Possibility as "Could Be Interesting"

The successful launch of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead developer Sandfall Interactive to consider a Nintendo Switch 2 port. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future directions following their strong debut.

Broche explained that the game's achievements have "changed everything," with the team currently evaluating their next steps. "Considering the game's success, it fundamentally changes our outlook," he noted.

When questioned about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche revealed they're currently reviewing numerous opportunities and determining which paths to pursue. "It's too early to make definitive announcements, but we're in a position where multiple appealing options are emerging—more than we can immediately handle. We're carefully selecting which opportunities to pursue. A Switch 2 version is certainly among the interesting possibilities," he elaborated.

Given the upcoming Switch 2 launch, it would be fitting for this year's top-rated game to appear on Nintendo's newest handheld platform. For now, fans will need to wait and see whether they'll eventually experience this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on the new device.

Official Merchandise Still in Planning Stages

Sandfall Interactive continues to receive numerous requests and opportunities, including popular demand for an official plush version of the beloved character Esquie. The studio clarified that no official merchandise currently exists and cautioned fans against counterfeit products circulating online. In a May 14 Twitter (X) post, they alerted followers about suspicious websites selling unauthorized Esquie plushies, stating: "To clarify: any third-party sites offering Esquie plushies are not officially licensed products."

The studio emphasized that many counterfeit items feature AI-generated artwork and strongly advised against purchasing them, noting these could potentially be scams. However, they confirmed active development of official Esquie plushies is underway.

Their statement continued: "Here's some positive news to offset the caution: we're actively working on creating official Esquie plushies and hope to make them available as soon as possible. Please remain patient in the meantime—and avoid falling victim to scams!"
