The eagerly awaited Days Gone Remastered is just around the corner, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared a detailed look at the accessibility features that will be included in this updated version of the game. One of the standout features is the ability to slow down the Game Speed during intense moments, catering to players who may find high-pressure situations challenging.

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, elaborated on the various accessibility enhancements. The Game Speed feature allows players to adjust the gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. According to McAllister, this adjustment is designed to assist players who might feel overwhelmed, particularly when facing the game's notorious hordes of Freakers. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this feature aims to make the unique combat experience more accessible to a broader audience.

Beyond the Game Speed option, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility features. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE (Quick Time Event) option, which was previously exclusive to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features, such as feedback and control customization options, will require a compatible controller to function fully.

Announced back in February, Days Gone Remastered promises not only enhanced accessibility but also additional features like an improved photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remastered edition of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game, centered around a biker's journey, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
