In Elden Ring Nightreign, three players team up as Nightfarers, battling new terrors and exploring the ever-changing Limveld map. The game features a three-day-and-night cycle, with increasingly challenging bosses culminating in a final confrontation with the Nightlord on the third night. Each night shrinks the playable map with the encroaching Night’s Tide.

The official description highlights key features:

Elden Ring Nightreign begins at the Roundtable Hold in a parallel universe. Choose from eight unique characters, each with distinct abilities and powerful Ultimates. Limveld, a dynamic environment, demands split-second decisions in combat and exploration. Defeat powerful bosses each night to progress, facing the Nightlord on the third night. Cooperation is key; combine abilities for success. Failure yields relics for character customization and upgrades. Each session is unique, with shifting enemies, rewards, and map layouts. Sites of Grace offer leveling opportunities, and successful runs grant lasting stat bonuses.

IGN’s hands-on experience with an early build described Elden Ring Nightreign as a “propulsive, slash ‘n’ dash speedrun” version of Elden Ring’s cautious dungeon crawls. For more insights, check out IGN's interview with game director Junya Ishizaki. [ttpp]
