Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Risk and Reward

Haunted Mirror in PhasmophobiaThe Haunted Mirror stands out as one of the safest Cursed Objects in Phasmophobia, offering significant advantages that outweigh the inherent risks. Its functionality remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended tool if encountered during an investigation.

The Mirror's primary benefit lies in its ability to reveal the ghost's current favored room or area. A panoramic view of this location is displayed in the mirror's reflection, significantly accelerating the ghost's location and allowing for strategic equipment placement before the investigation intensifies.

Typically located either hanging on a wall (as seen in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor in a predetermined spot, the Haunted Mirror, like all Cursed Objects, spawns consistently in the same map location; the randomness lies in which Cursed Object appears.

To utilize the Mirror, simply pick it up and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller) to hold it aloft. The ghost's favored room will then be visible within its reflection. However, players on Professional difficulty or higher should remember that the ghost's location might shift after a certain timeframe.

Caution is advised: prolonged gazing into the Haunted Mirror depletes sanity. Furthermore, holding it for the entire duration results in the mirror shattering and triggering a Cursed Hunt at your precise location. Therefore, optimal usage involves employing it when sanity levels are high and carefully interpreting the reflected image.

Understanding Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia

Various Cursed Objects

Cursed Possessions ("Cursed Objects") are unique, randomly spawning items in Phasmophobia, with appearance potentially influenced by difficulty or Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which aids in ghost detection and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer strategic advantages or shortcuts at a considerable cost to the player's character.

The risk level varies among Cursed Objects, leaving the decision of whether or not to use them to the players. No penalty is incurred for avoiding them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven distinct Cursed Objects are available:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
