Players Threaten to Quit Infinity Nikki Over V1.5 Update

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have launched on Steam, accompanied by significant community backlash.

Infold Games' fashionable dress-up adventure arrived on Valve's platform yesterday after months of Epic Games Store exclusivity. What should have been a celebratory moment for fans has instead been overshadowed by technical problems, confusing design alterations, and demanding costume requirements. The developers have issued apologies while pledging compensation for affected players, but the controversy surrounding Infinity Nikki continues.

PC players eagerly anticipating the Steam release encountered numerous technical difficulties, from game crashes to general instability. While launch issues aren't uncommon, players quickly identified additional concerns beyond performance problems.

Two new premium outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, require collecting 11 pieces each - significantly more than standard sets. This translates to players potentially needing up to 220 pulls (and substantial spending) to complete these collections. The unannounced increase in requirements has sparked fears that future outfits will become even more demanding.

Compounding the situation, Infold unexpectedly extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event duration from two to three weeks, creating confusion within the community. As technical issues mounted alongside these monetization changes, Chinese players took to social media platform RedNote to voice complaints, sparking a widespread movement. The protest has grown globally, with players urging boycotts, negative Steam reviews, and uninstalls across all platforms.

"What I'm reminding people is that many Chinese players are pledging not to spend on banners to send a message," explained Reddit user kiaxxl in a call-to-action post. "For gacha games, initial spending metrics are crucial. Temporarily withholding pulls demonstrates our desire for fair gameplay."

The backlash has achieved measurable results - Infinity Nikki currently holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam, with negative reviews warning potential players about the current state of the game.

The mounting pressure forced Infold to release an apology letter across official channels, acknowledging technical issues and promising better communication. The message claims many major problems have been resolved while announcing compensatory rewards: 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds.

While some players view these concessions positively, others remain concerned about unresolved issues - particularly the decision to maintain 11-piece outfit requirements. Community organizers are urging continued pressure to prevent further increases in monetization demands.

"If we accept these changes, future premium outfits will likely require 11 pieces too," warned Reddit user EdensAsmr. "Saving 70-80 pulls per update won't be sufficient anymore."

Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now available, featuring 100 free pulls and redeemable codes offering Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For players exploring the new Sea of Stars area, an interactive map helps track progression.
