Marvel Rivals to Add 2 Heroes Every 3 Months
NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh and engaging for its players through regular updates. The developers plan to roll out updates approximately every month and a half, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures that players always have new content to explore upon returning to the game.
In an insightful interview, game director Guangyun Chen revealed that each seasonal update is thoughtfully divided into two phases. The first half of the season introduces one new hero, while the second half brings another hero into the fray. This strategic approach keeps both the audience and players captivated throughout the season.
Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will enhance the gaming experience with updates that include new maps, compelling storylines, and engaging objectives. Among the anticipated characters, Blade, who is yet to be playable, and Altron, known through leaks, have already been introduced. Additionally, the entire Fantastic Four team has recently been unveiled, adding to the excitement.
The game has proven to be a commercial success, generating approximately $100 million globally, with significant contributions from the Chinese market, according to the Chinese publication GameLook. Marvel, a dominant force in the film industry, has made a significant impact in the gaming sector with this title.
Marvel Rivals effectively fills a void in the game-service genre, particularly after the less successful venture with Square Enix's Avengers. The NetEase studio has delivered a top-tier heroic shooter featuring a roster of captivating characters, which has been well-received since its launch.
