As we approach the August launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has unveiled the stealth classic's opening cinematic.

While featuring subtle updates, the sequence will immediately resonate with longtime fans—from the newspaper montage to the iconic James Bond-style theme song, once again performed by original vocalist Cynthia Harrell.

The trailer showcases several key game moments (without context, naturally), including Snake's breathtaking waterfall dive and the infamous "Snake Eater" scene where he consumes—you guessed it—a snake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remakes Konami's 2004 tactical espionage classic (originally titled without "Delta"). The publisher recently confirmed the August 28 release date and revealed the return of the fan-favorite Snake vs. Monkey minigame. The remake will retain the suggestive content from Metal Gear Solid 3, including the controversial Peep Demo Theatre mode per recent age ratings.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta appears more like a polished HD remaster than the full reimagining it could have been," noted IGN in our preview, which examines Snake's new first-person viewpoint. "While visually stunning for nostalgia's sake, its faithfulness may border on excessive." The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater received our stellar 9.6/10 review score.
