NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. While many weapons are unique to the game, one stands out for fans of Square Enix titles: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, accessible during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress until you return as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a shortcut. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right, following the path into a 2D perspective segment. Navigate past a fenced area, ascend some broken stairs, and traverse conveyor belts with moving crates. Avoid the crushing presses on the next belt. Jump to the cylinder platform where spider-like enemies await.

Take the left door, climbing stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, leading to a platform extending towards the camera. This triggers another 2D platforming section, requiring jumps across presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.

Caution: Exploding enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach.

Engine Blade Stats In NieR: Automata

  • Attack Power: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon boasts four upgrade levels, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding the Masamune). Its damage output is more consistent than the Iron Pipe, offering greater predictability.
