Nintendo Switch 2 to Support 120fps, 4K Docked
After years of speculation about Nintendo's long-rumored Switch successor, the revealed specifications exceed expectations – featuring 120fps capabilities and up to 4K resolution when docked.
Today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation unveiled key system enhancements. The upgraded console boasts a larger 7.9-inch display while maintaining the original's slim 13.9mm profile. The enhanced LCD screen delivers 1080p handheld resolution with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR support. When docked, the system achieves native 4K resolution with HDR functionality.
The redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers feature magnetic attachments with a rear release mechanism. Improved ergonomics include enlarged SL/SR buttons for better horizontal gameplay and larger analog sticks. Notably, Nintendo confirmed mouse control compatibility in the updated controllers.
The handheld unit incorporates advanced audio features including a noise-canceling microphone and 3D audio support. A redesigned kickstand offers enhanced stability with adjustable positioning. Added connectivity comes via a top-mounted USB port that supports external cameras or tabletop charging.
The Nintendo Switch 2 includes substantial hardware upgrades with 256GB of internal storage capacity.
