Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer

If you're a seasoned archer, feel free to skip this section. For newcomers, here’s what you need to know: As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to keep a safe distance from your enemies and let your arrows do the talking. Although Archers can deal significant damage, they aren’t built to withstand it.

Archers wear Medium armor, which offers more protection than Light armor but less than Heavy armor. Unlike Light armor classes like Magicians or Priests, Archers don't have access to protective spells or heavy armor. Instead, Archers rely on their allies and, crucially, their Pets to absorb damage.

Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. While your initial choice of pets might be limited, Archers can eventually access a variety of unique pets, making them one of the most versatile and powerful classes in the game.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, Archers, like all other classes, can choose a subclass. Opt for Beast Tamer over Sharpshooter as soon as you reach this level.

Currently, there's little reason to choose Sharpshooter; the allure of firing multiple arrows is overshadowed by the Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability, which lets you tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs. Beast Tamers' enhanced pets make them resilient and powerful enough to solo many group activities.
