Donkey Kong Bananza not only earned a perfect 10/10 score from us but is also the only game to receive a Masterpiece rating this year. While 2025 has seen limited competition in terms of Switch 2 exclusives, it has been an outstanding year for console gaming overall. Notable releases like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Death Stranding 2, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Hollow Knight: Silksong all came close to Masterpiece status but fell just short.
