According to a recent Bloomberg report, Warner Bros. has canceled an unannounced paid DLC for its popular game, Hogwarts Legacy. The planned story expansion was set to be released this year, accompanied by a "Definitive Edition" of the game. However, the decision to cancel came after concerns that the content volume did not justify the proposed price, as per Bloomberg's sources. Warner Bros. did not respond to Bloomberg's request for comment on this matter.

This cancellation is part of a broader restructuring within Warner Bros.' gaming division, which has been facing financial challenges. Earlier this year, the company made significant moves by canceling its anticipated Wonder Woman game and shutting down the studio behind it, Monolith Productions. Other affected studios include WB San Diego and the MultiVersus developer, Player First Games. Additionally, layoffs occurred at Rocksteady in September of the previous year.

Despite these setbacks, Warner Bros. continues to emphasize the importance of Hogwarts Legacy and the Harry Potter franchise. The company has confirmed that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is "one of the biggest priorities," highlighting their focus on major franchises. The original game has achieved remarkable success, selling over 30 million copies.
