Transform your device into a versatile portable display for a Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or any device with HDMI output using an HDMI to USB C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. Note that this is not the same as a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable. Additionally, cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are fully supported.
Noir is designed to handle UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, providing you with the choice between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. While the free version offers basic functions and an immersive experience (with ads outside of the preview), upgrading to the pro version unlocks a range of additional features and supports the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

FAQ
Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Your device might not support USB Host (OTG), or the connected device may not be a Video Capture Card. In some cases, additional power from a USB hub might be required. Why is the preview so laggy?
Laggy previews are often linked to the USB version. Ensure that both your capture card, USB data cable, and USB port on your device match the required USB version (3.0 or 2.0). For USB 2.0, use MJPEG format and stick to 1080p30fps or below. Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
System issues can cause this. A simple restart of your phone or tablet might resolve the issue. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
This is often due to HDCP being enabled on devices like PS5 and PS4. Disable HDCP through the console's settings. Some HDMI splitters might bypass HDCP, but this solution is not recommended here. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Current market capture cards support only these ratios. Use Noir's Stretch feature to adjust, ensuring your capture card's EDID and device output resolution match.
