This app demonstrates and illustrates a fascinating neurological phenomenon. It occurs when a task disrupts the automatic connection between the color perceived by the visual system and the color name processed by the rational mind.

The Stroop test actively engages and challenges your brain.

Neuroscience background: Visual signals from the eyes reach the brain much faster than the rational mind can process the semantic meaning, because visual pathways are immediate while conscious thought requires time.

Under time pressure to answer correctly, this neural conflict can create an impulse to select the wrong answer. You must use conscious willpower, maintain focus, and think quickly to provide correct answers in successively shorter times.

How to play:

First, select one of the two game modes. By default, it starts in "Stroop Effect" mode, also called "Get Meaning, Put Color" in the menu.

When a game begins, the first question appears, and you must click one of the four color-coded buttons to answer.

Your primary goal is to achieve as many correct answers as possible by the end of the test sequence.

Once you can consistently answer all questions correctly, the next challenge is to improve your speed and reaction time.
