Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary

The sudden announcement of the shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* before even completing its first year has left many fans disheartened. Yet, there's a silver lining: the game will still get to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

Zynga, the developer and publisher behind the game, is set to release one last content update on April 15th. This update will introduce Tuya, a new Support Hunter, available to players for free. Additionally, in-game purchases will be disabled on the same day, signaling the beginning of the end.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun. It's advisable for players with unspent Crystals to use them before the shutdown, as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

The delayed launch, absence of major console support, and a tepid reception from the gaming community all contributed to the inevitable shutdown. From a design perspective, the game missed a golden opportunity by opting for generic original characters instead of leveraging the iconic figures of the Star Wars universe.
