How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you've completed the tutorial section in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and ventured into the open world, your first step is to speak with the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. This conversation will kick off The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will provide you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials on your own, but you can craft this weapon at any blacksmith’s forge.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

The riddle you receive reads:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To solve this riddle, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Leave the castle via the northern gates and continue north into the forest.

Follow the road and keep an eye on the left side. You'll soon spot rocky formations with small crevices that you can navigate through. Enter the cave you find, which houses a chapel. Examine the cross on the rock next to the chapel to discover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour and two treasure maps to guide you further in your quest.

Map 1

Continue following the road from the chapel westward until you reach a crossroads. From there, head north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Look for the trees just above the den, where you'll find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

Your second map leads you to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and watch for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb up to the rocks to find a chest next to a cross.

Map 3

For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov, head to the tavern, and then leave the settlement. Cross the two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second bridge, look for a small path leading towards the river and the forest. Follow this path to a hill, and examine the large tree at the top to find some bones and a bag with the armour.

Map 4

Your final map directs you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Search for rocks with a cross on top of the hill to uncover the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
