Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. To maintain a fair and enjoyable gaming environment, Capcom has issued a stern warning against cheating and the use of external tools. In a recent post on X/Twitter, the company stated, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
Capcom further emphasized that players who join multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. The company advised players to be cautious and avoid playing multiplayer with individuals suspected of engaging in prohibited activities. Capcom encouraged players to report any fraudulent behavior they encounter during quests.
The new quests will offer attractive rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be distributed to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheaters, as such activities could affect the integrity of rewards and completion times.
The Time-Based Competition Quests will be available starting with Title Update 1 and will be organized through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja. Players must complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub, so it's recommended to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
