Chernobyl's Heart Beats Again: STALKER 2

This guide details the "Just Like the Good Old Days" main mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The mission's prerequisites depend on choices made in the "Wishful Thinking" mission, leading to either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order" as preceding quests. Both conclude with an escape from SIRCAA.

Key Objectives

• Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island: Locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp on Wild Island. Expect an immediate side objective: eliminating mercenaries marked on your map. These enemies are easily identifiable. Strong equipment is recommended.

• (Optional) Activate the Ventilation System: This side objective enhances later gameplay. Locate a fuse (marked on your map), then proceed to the marked engineering rooms to the north. An invisible enemy awaits. Use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system.

• Find the Source of the Signal: Before proceeding, consider upgrading your weaponry. Enter a cave near the water's edge at the marked location. Navigate the cavern system westward, utilizing a broken pipe to reach higher areas. Locate the emitter near a large cone-shaped spire. Another invisible enemy will be encountered on your return journey. Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission, unlocking "Hornet's Nest" as the next main quest.
