Devil May Cry 5 has surpassed 10 million units sold, with Capcom crediting the recent Netflix anime adaptation for helping achieve this milestone.

Originally launched in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Devil May Cry 5 received widespread acclaim from players and reviewers alike. IGN's review scored it 9.5/10, praising how "the game's three distinct combat styles redefine the series' standards while delivering an engaging narrative."

Six years post-launch, DMC5 stands as one of Capcom's most successful titles. "The game's outstanding combat system has earned lasting player support, resulting in sustained catalog sales since release," Capcom stated.

"Capcom enhanced the experience with additional playable characters and richer storytelling. The April 2025 Netflix anime adaptation, part of our Single Content Multiple Usage strategy, further boosted engagement.

"The anime debuted globally as Netflix's fourth most-watched English-language show, maintaining Japan's Top 10 charts for seven straight days with 5.3 million views. These cross-media initiatives, combined with the game's adrenaline-fueled combat, helped surpass 10 million lifetime sales."

With the franchise totaling over 33 million sales since 2001 and DMC5's ongoing success, speculation about Devil May Cry 6 intensifies. Given these figures, another sequel appears inevitable.

While Capcom remains tight-lipped about future plans, its current slate includes Monster Hunter Wilds, Street Fighter 6 updates, Resident Evil: Requiem, and Pragmata's revival.

As the best-selling entry in the franchise and now among Capcom's Top 10 selling titles, Devil May Cry's return seems assured. Only its release timeframe remains uncertain.
