DOOM: The Dark Ages Release Date and Gameplay Revealed

Bethesda and id Software presented a new demonstration of DOOM: The Dark Ages during the Xbox showcase, confirming insider reports that the new hellish shooter will launch on May 15.
The Dark Ages transports players to the Medieval era, and naturally, the different time period brings significant changes to gameplay. In this title, players will embody a "killing machine" and function as a true tank. According to the developers, the gameplay dynamics are a notable departure from DOOM: Eternal. Players won't need to constantly leap around or perform extensive parkour. Instead, they'll spend more time grounded, utilizing a massive arsenal to obliterate demons.
Essential tools for vanquishing demons will include a shield and a mace. For the first time in the series, players will be able to pilot a giant mech to combat slightly smaller demons. Furthermore, the campaign will offer the opportunity to ride a dragon.
The shooter will include a flexible difficulty customization system. Players can fine-tune the challenge level, the amount of damage enemies inflict, and numerous other parameters.
