Techland Fixes Dying Light Beast Rain, Day/Night Glitch
Dying Light: The Beast has released a hotfix to guarantee that all players who pre-ordered the game receive their Kyle Crane Legacy Skin. Once you've updated to version 1.2.2, simply check your in-game stash to locate it.
This follows several other brief updates since the standalone zombie game launched on September 18. The most recent, Hotfix 1.2.1, resolved the "indoor rain and disrupted day/night cycle" issue and similarly placed the APEX Car Skin in the in-game stash for everyone who pre-ordered or owns the game via the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition.
Techland noticed the weather anomalies shortly after release, assuring players they were "aware of the problems with Indoor Rain and the Disturbed Day/Night Cycle and are making their resolution a top priority." However, because the bug occurred only in "rare situations, it required extensive additional testing."
Commenters on the announcement expressed appreciation for the hotfix, though some are still seeking more details about ray tracing, stuttering, frame drops, and memory leaks.
In Dying Light: The Beast, you take on the role of Kyle Crane, a legendary hero who escapes after years of cruel experimentation. The game currently holds a 'Very Positive' review rating on Steam and earned a 7/10 in our review, where we described it as "a silly, gory sequel with a monstrous twist that doesn't significantly innovate."
Dying Light: The Beast Hotfix 1.2.2 Patch Notes:
If you pre-ordered the game, this update ensures your Kyle Crane Legacy Skin is automatically granted from the server. After updating, check your in-game stash – if it doesn't appear right away, it should be available soon.
Dying Light: The Beast Hotfix 1.2.1 Patch notes:
This fix tackles the problems with Indoor Rain and the Disturbed Day/Night Cycle. Once the hotfix is live across all platforms, the APEX Car Skin will be waiting in the in-game stash for all players who pre-ordered the game or own it through the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition.
