"inZOI Ditches Explicit Sex Scenes"

The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently tackled some intriguing fan questions during a Q&A session. One particularly hot topic was the inclusion of sexual intercourse within the game. The assistant director provided a rather ambiguous response, cleverly avoiding the direct use of the term "sex." The gist of the answer suggested that when a male ZOI and a female ZOI retreat to bed together, it's implied they are engaging in the act of creating children, yet the visual representation is left up to the player's imagination.

Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This left fans puzzled about whether inZOI would adopt a censorship approach similar to The Sims series or introduce a novel method altogether.

Another point of interest was the developers' decision on how ZOIs shower. Rather than using pixelated censorship, ZOIs are shown showering in towels. This choice was explained as being more appropriate for games with a cartoonish aesthetic, while in a game with realistic graphics like inZOI, pixelation could appear overly sexualized. Additionally, the team encountered a technical glitch where the pixelation did not reflect correctly in mirrors when a naked ZOI was nearby.

To clarify these aspects, one only needs to look at the game's ratings assigned by regulatory bodies: the ESRB has rated inZOI as T (for teens), and a PEGI 12 rating is anticipated. These ratings align with those given to The Sims 4, providing a clearer picture of what players can expect in terms of content and censorship within inZOI.
