Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.

Starting the Quest:

After gaining open-world access in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, progress through the quest involving finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speaking with Bozhena about Mutt reveals her daughter Pavlena's disappearance, prompting her request for help and initiating the "Bad Blood" quest.

Gathering Information:

  1. Troskowitz Investigation: Begin by speaking with Bailiff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz. Their accounts shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena's past and their strained relationship with the village.

  2. Woodcutter's Clues: Next, locate Woodcutter Dushko. He directs you to Roman's house, requiring lockpicking skills to enter. Examine Pavlena's basket inside.

  3. Roman's Fate: Return to Dushko for further guidance, leading you to a clearing near Roman's house – a favorite spot for the couple. Follow the blood trail to discover Roman's body. Subsequently, speak with Hogheard Hugo and Hired Hand Straw (requiring a successful dialogue check with Straw to obtain crucial information about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena). Inform Thrush about your findings.

  4. Ota's Confrontation: Proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov. Navigate the path, climb the ladder, and confront Ota and Pavlena. High Charisma is beneficial here. Choosing dialogue options like "What's your name?", "Let her go and I'll let you go.", and "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship" will convince Ota to release Pavlena, who subsequently kills him. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.

Choosing Your Path:

The final stage presents a choice: kill Jakesh or pursue peace. Locate Jakesh at his child's grave. Killing him negatively impacts your reputation in Troskowitz but improves it with Bozhena and Pavlena, unlocking additional dialogue with Pavlena and rewarding you with Roman's gift to her. Choosing peace results in a 100 groschen reward from Jakesh (which you can keep or share with Bozhena), and allows Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement. Killing Bozhena is also a possible, albeit grim, conclusion.

The Consequences of Your Actions:

The choice between killing Jakesh or making peace significantly alters the outcome and your reputation within the game world. Consider the ramifications before making your decision. This concludes the "Bad Blood" quest. For more Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 guides and walkthroughs, refer to The Escapist.
