Monster Hunter Wilds 1.011 Update Details May 28

Monster Hunter Wilds game director Yuya Tokuda has unveiled the highlights of the upcoming Ver. 1.011 update launching May 28, featuring "numerous new additions and gameplay enhancements, including a special crossover event with Street Fighter 6."

In his latest developer update, Tokuda explained the team's goal to "deliver fresh content while refining existing systems to elevate the Monster Hunter Wilds experience," introducing Akuma from Street Fighter as a formidable new opponent. Players can obtain a complete Arkuma armor set plus layered variants, with three special moves automatically added to your item bar when equipped: Assisted Combo Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken (detailed descriptions available on the official website).

Version 1.011 introduces eight-star "master-tier" monsters including Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad - unlocked at Hunter Rank 41+. These provide alternative endgame hunts beyond Arkveld, though the original seven-star versions remain available. The eight-star variants feature enhanced durability with boosted HP, wound resistance, and optimized multiplayer scaling. Tokuda cautions that Tempered Gore Magala poses "an extreme challenge even for veteran hunters." Higher-rank players will also encounter more frequent multi-monster quests and increased difficulty missions.

Substantial weapon balancing arrives across Ver. 1.011 and Title Update 2, affecting Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, and both Bowgun types. Specific improvements include enhanced capabilities for Gunlance's Artian weapons.

"While some weapons received slight nerfs, others gained buffs - we've carefully expanded each weapon type's potential," Tokuda noted, particularly recommending players test the revamped Hammer and Dual Blades featuring "multiple quality-of-life upgrades."

Quality-of-life adjustments include resting mechanics at Grand Hub and Suja Peaks of Accord - recovering all destroyed Pop-up Camps automatically. The update removes redundant full-inventory prompts (overflow items now deposit directly into storage) and improves meal-effect timers with clear 10-minute warnings before expiration. Notification systems have been streamlined to minimize UI clutter during hunts, and they no longer interfere with map controls.

"Following our previous announcement, captured endemic life can now be reviewed," Tokuda added. "At Windward Plains' Ecological Research station, examine your collection including fish dimensions and weights. Favorited creatures remain permanently stored regardless of capacity limits, allowing preservation of rare color variants or unique specimens."

The update brings stability improvements (especially Steam optimization) alongside boosted rewards for eight-star investigations and revised Guild Point calculations for fishing activities.

As Capcom's newest flagship Monster Hunter title, Wilds presents evolving ecosystems and a dualistic world - alternating between brutal survival landscapes and teeming wildlife havens. Our Monster Hunter Wilds review scored it 8/10, praising its "refined combat system" while noting "veterans might crave greater difficulty."
