If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news on a potential *The Last of Us Part 3*, brace yourself for some disheartening news. Neil Druckmann, the mastermind behind the series, has recently cast doubt on the possibility of a third installment in a revealing interview with Variety, which primarily focused on the upcoming *The Last of Us* TV series. When pressed about the prospects of *The Last of Us Part 3*, Druckmann's response was unequivocal:

“I was waiting for this question,” he remarked with a sigh. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”

This statement has left fans wondering whether to take Druckmann at his word. Currently, Naughty Dog is channeling its efforts into *Intergalactic*, a new project announced at The Game Awards last December. Given the absence of a release window for *Intergalactic*, it's clear that the studio's focus is on this space-themed endeavor, leaving little room for *The Last of Us Part 3* in the immediate future. Druckmann's comments might be a strategic move to keep expectations in check, or perhaps he genuinely feels the story has reached its conclusion. Only time will tell if his stance on a third game might shift.

For those still yearning for more *The Last of Us*, the television adaptation offers a silver lining. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about the number of seasons needed to fully adapt the story of *Part 2*, an HBO executive suggested in February that four seasons might be the ideal length to bring the saga to a close.
